Every day, RBARI provides refuge, medical care, healing and second chances to vulnerable animals in our community.  But, as rescue needs continue to grow, our current facilities are no longer equipped to support the level of care these animals deserve.

RBARI is launching a transformative renovation project focused on creating calmer, safer, healthier spaces where animals can heal, recover, and prepare for adoption.

Phase 1 of the project will create 8 new climate-controlled indoor/outdoor kennel runs designed to reduce stress, improve sanitation, support recovery, and help more dogs successfully transition into homes.

To explore the full renovation project, planned improvements, campaign goal, sponsorship and naming opportunities, and the lifesaving impact your support can make possible, please visit rbari.org/sponsor.

This project is about more than expanding space.  It is about improving outcomes for the animals who need us most.  Calmer environments reduce stress, improve behavior, support medical recovery, and help dogs show their true personalities while waiting for forever homes.

A generous supporter has committed a $100,000 Matching Gift to help launch the campaign.  Every donation will have twice the impact in helping us build safer, more supportive spaces for animals in need.

Transforming RBARI’s Facilities to Save More Lives is more than a renovation project.  It is an investment in the future of rescue and in the vulnerable animals in our community who depend on us every single day.

*Any funds raised beyond our $300,000 Phase 1 goal will help support the ongoing daily care, medical needs, enrichment, and maintenance of the animals and shelter spaces that make this lifesaving work possible.*

To continue our mission of rescue → recovery → adoption, our facilities must evolve.

The goal of this project is to transform our current outdoor kennel space into a calmer, healthier, climate-controlled environment designed to reduce stress, improve recovery, and help more animals show their best selves on the path to adoption.

As demand for rescue continues to rise, our current facilities are no longer equipped to support the level of care these vulnerable animals deserve.

  • Current kennels are loud, overstimulating, and outdated

  • No decompression space for fearful or newly arrived dogs

  • Stress impacts behavior, health, and adoptability

  • Drainage and sanitation challenges increase illness risk

  • Capacity limitations mean fewer lives can be saved

  • 8 new climate-controlled indoor/outdoor kennel runs

  • Enclosing and transforming current outdoor runs

  • Expanded footprint for increased capacity

  • Improved sanitation, drainage, and ventilation

  • Designed to reduce stress and support healing

  • Better recovery, behavior, and adoptability

Every design decision is centered around one goal: improving the lives of the animals in our care.

  • A Happy Dog is an Adoptable Dog. Calmer spaces reduce stress and help dogs show their best selves.

  • Faster Healing & Recovery. Quieter spaces support medical cases, seniors, and dogs recovering from trauma, illness or injury.

  • More Lives Saved. Healthier, happier dogs move into homes sooner, allowing RBARI to take in more animals in need.

  • Safer, Cleaner Spaces. Improved drainage, sanitation, and double-sided runs reduce illness spread and improve comfort.

  • Fear Free Daily Care. Double-sided kennels allow dogs to remain comfortable and secure while staff clean and sanitize their space.

  • Room to Grow. Phase 1 creates 8 new indoor/outdoor runs and allows for future renovation of the main kennel.
