Rabies Clinic
Dr. Morris and Mary Ellen Stout working at our rabies clinic. In a joint effort with the New Jersey Department of Health since 1990, the Shelter has participated in a comprehensive program to control rabies. In the past year more than 6,000 dogs and cats were given inoculations at its weekly clinic. The Shelter continues to serve the municipalities that contract with it as a rabies control center.
The Bergen County Animal Shelter holds its State Rabies Clinic on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays of every month, from 4:30 PM to 6:00 PM, with the following exceptions: The clinic for 6/23 has been cancelled. Due to the holidays in the months of November and December, clinics are held instead on the 1st and 3rd Thursdays of the month. There is no cost for rabies shots to residents of New Jersey.
All animals that are brought must be restrained, either by collar and leash, or in a carrier. If your pet has had previous rabies shots, please bring the certificate with you when you come to the clinic. PETCO Ramsey
