HUMANE EDUCATION
Our programs stress the importance of responsible pet ownership, pet care, and shelter work to people of all ages. Shelter visits or in-school visits (including scout groups) are offered through our shelter.
TOURS
Tours of our Oakland, NJ facility are available for smaller
groups, 3rd grade and up. Tours last approx. 1 hour. Please call
to schedule an appointment.
CLASSROOM VISITS
Our humane education program is offered to pre-school through High School classes. Each presentation consists of an introduction to RBARI, and literature on RBARI will be distributed at the end of the session. We have developed lessons on companion animals (dogs and cats), covering:
- Basic Pet Care
- Pet overpopulation
- Careers in the animal field
- What is a shelter?
- Animal abuse & neglect
- Safety around animals
